This 8" x 12" x 5/8" hardwood base is made up of 1 1/2" strips, which are a combination of Oak, Maple, Ash and several 1 1/2" strips of Black Walnut. The Black Walnut pieces may have a mixture of light and dark colorations, which are part of how the Walnut tree grows.
This base has one 1/16" single slot for the insertion of flat reed.
Each base is unique as different woods are used to make each base. All of these hardwoods used in making the base will stain and finish beautifully and will make a very interesting basket base.
This base is finished sanded on all surfaces and edges and is ready for weaving.
