This butcher block cutting board is made from various random edge grain strips of hardwoods Oak, Cherry, Maple, Ash, Hickory and Black Walnut. The strips of hardwood measure from 1/2" to 3/4" in width and are glue laminated together for strength and durability. The dark stips are Black Walnut. This board is finished with a FDA approved food grade sealant (mineral oil) which brings out the natural characteristics of the wood. Maintain the luster of the board with a liberal coating of mineral oil when the board looks dry. This is usually once to twice a year.
This cutting board measures approximately 1 1/4" to 1 3/8" in thickness, by 20" in length, by 14" in width. This board weighs in at a hefty 10 pounds, which makes it rock solid.
This board would make a great cheese board for guests or simply place it on your kitchen counter top for daily use. A very attractive addition to the kitchen.
Add your own rubber feet (not included) and the board will stay in place while in use.
